Who do you admire most and why?

My husband, Rob. He is patient and supportive in ways I could never understand or be able to do.

What is the quality you like most in a person?

Integrity.

What is the quality you like most in a colleague?

Collaboration.

What qualities are important to you in a leader?

Trust, integrity, honesty and understanding.

What do you value most in your friends?

Honesty, even when it hurts.

Which talent would you most like to have?

I wish I could play the piano better. I play, but not very well. I was very young when I started taking lessons, but I was always an anxious pianist, so I never got close to mastering it.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

I sincerely hope I have not had my greatest achievement yet!

Where would you most like to live?

Closer to my family. I have family in Missouri, Michigan, Connecticut, Ohio; they’re everywhere! I wish everyone was closer.

What is your most treasured possession?

He’s not quite a possession, but the answer is easily my dog, Morty. He’s a mini Bernedoodle, which is a cross between a Bernese Mountain Dog and a mini Poodle.

What’s the best live event you’ve ever seen and why?

When I was young, I saw Show Boat at the Kennedy Center. That memory sticks with me because the entire theatre shook with the power of one man’s voice when he was singing Old Man River. As a young person, it was unforgettable and incredibly powerful.

What is your favorite venue and why?

The Majestic Theatre in San Antonio. It’s a beautiful, atmospheric theater — and though you’re inside, you feel like you’re enjoying the performance al fresco. It has a great deal of history and is stunningly beautiful.

What is your favorite song, musician, band, artist, player or team of all time and why?

This is a nearly impossible question for me to answer because I was trained as a musician and my undergrad is in music. If I had to pick, I would say the Beatles. They are one of the few bands I can think of that bridges a lot of different genres and mastered all of those genres along the way.

What is your favorite place to visit or place you’d love to visit and why?

My husband and I recently went to Germany. We both have family ties there. Getting a glimpse of where our families are from and really getting to appreciate and understand that culture was really memorable for us. We’re active vacationers, not beach vacationers, so that kind of trip suits us.

If you could go back in time, what advice would you give yourself?

Be patient and work hard.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to do yoga, bake (pies especially), go to arts events and I’m a movie nerd.

If you were granted three wishes today, what would they be?

First would be health for family and friends, second would be more time to spend with family and friends, and the third would be that the Kansas City Chiefs would win the Super Bowl next year. I was born and raised in Kansas City, I’m a big Chiefs fan, and I’d love to see them win in my lifetime!

What brings you the most joy or greatest meaning in life?

My faith and my family.

Why are you a member of INTIX?

I’m a member of INTIX because INTIX is a group of people who understands who I am, what I do and provides a huge base of support and knowledge. I find this incredibly useful and appreciate it in my professional career and in my personal life as well.

What do you get from INTIX?

Support, encouragement and great new ideas.

How do you use INTIX?

I use INTIX for networking and to get answers to questions.

What does INTIX give you that is different from everything else you are doing?

I find that INTIX is a source of constant support and it is always a place I can go to be rejuvenated and refreshed.

Who is your mentor?

Steven Roth from Tessitura Network. He was my first boss out of grad school and has been helpful and influential in every professional decision that I’ve made from that point on.

Who or what inspires you?

I am a kid from small town Missouri and I was lucky enough to have arts experiences as a child that broadened my view of the world and changed my life. The idea that what we do can create those experiences for people — children, families, whoever it may be — to change their minds and open their eyes is what really inspires me.

What do you love most about your job?

The people with whom I work.

What do you love most about our industry?

The importance of what we bring to the world, especially when times are hard. Finding a place of refuge, to learn something new or just enjoy yourself is so important.

What is your most memorable INTIX moment?

I truly hope that it is yet to come and that it’s at the New York conference in 2020. If I had to pick an answer going back in time, I would say when I won Young Ticketing Professional of the Year in 2015.
