Happy holidays, you wonderful members of the International Ticketing Association!
This year, Santa has entrusted me, Maclunkey the head elf, with sending our annual yuletide best wishes to the greatest group of ticketing professionals around. Santa came to me and he said, “Son” — he actually called me “son” … THE DREAM! — he said, “Son, I am going to be super busy down on the toy factory floor overseeing the last details of my big, BIG night coming up. So this year, I am entrusting you to wish everyone at INTIX a ‘happy holidays’ from all of us here at the North Pole.”
Hey, quick question. How much does Santa get charged on Christmas Eve to park his sleigh? Nothing! It’s on the house!
Ha! You’ve heard of dad jokes? Well, elf jokes are just as hilarious. And I have hundreds of them. For instance, why did the reindeer…
(Off-camera, the elfin camera operator can be heard yelling “MACLUNKEY!”)
Oh, alright. Where was I? Oh yes. The awesome members of INTIX. In the pandemic era, you fine folks have been absolutely key in bringing live events back to the people of the world, and your efforts have not gone unnoticed here at the Pole. Why, this year, you even made believers once again out of legions of 14-, 15-, 16- and 17-year-old girls. For at least the last month, we’ve been getting letter after letter from them, pleading, “Santa, when I wake up on Christmas morning, please, please let there be Taylor Swift tickets under the tree! Please!”
Santa, of course, is a toy maker. Not a ticketing professional. Nevertheless, dear members, he, Mrs. Claus, and all of the elves want to express how much love and appreciation we have for each of you. If hugs were snowflakes, we’d send you a blizzard! I close with a toast. INTIX members, here’s to you for what was an amazing 2022! And whatever comes in the new year, stay calm and jingle on!
