Happy holidays, you wonderful members of the International Ticketing Association!
This year it is I, Mrs. Claus, sending yuletide wishes to the greatest group of ticketing professionals around. After 2020, you good people were absolutely key in bringing live events back to the people of the world in 2021. And you didn’t have an army of double-vaccinated elves helping you! Your efforts have not gone unnoticed here at the Pole. Every time a parent puts the gift of tickets under the tree or in the stocking for their little ones, that’s one less toy Santa has to lug on the sleigh and deliver Christmas Eve night.
Believe me, every little bit helps.
And please know, Santa has personally benefited from your hard work, too. Come August or September of each year, I am always on him to “Eat, Poppa! Eat!” After all, no one wants a skinny Santa! Well, this year, he misheard me. He thought I said, “Seat, Poppa! Seat!” And he got so excited for all of the shows and concerts and sporting events that were back on that he jumped online and bought front row seats to several of them. Let’s see, there was Harry Styles’ Harryween concert at Madison Square Garden. There was the Atlanta Braves’ Game 6 win in the World Series. And he had so much fun at the big “This Is Christmas” show in Vegas with all of those wonderful Broadway and “American Idol” stars.
Santa was at all of them. And now he is down on the toy factory floor, personally overseeing all of the last-minute details for his big Dec. 24 flight. And, yes, he is indeed back in Santa shape. I tell him, “Poppa, look at you! You’ve got your Dad Bod back!” And he pats his belly and says back to me, “Ho, ho, ho! I prefer the term, ‘Father figure.’” Nevertheless, we both want to express how much love and appreciation we have for each of you.
A job well done in 2021, INTIX!
