Ticketmaster announced on Aug. 28 that it will team up with Samsung's Bixby virtual assistant to help fans discover and buy tickets to live events through Bixby's voice technology. This should personalize the experience for Samsung Galaxy Note9 users via integration with Ticketmaster's application programming interface. They will be able to request information about artists or teams, or location and event dates. Bixby is triggered by speaking phrases such as "Hi Bixby, find concert tickets in [city]" or "Hi Bixby, what sporting events are happening in [city] this weekend?" Bixby then transmits results about the query to the fan's Samsung device in order to select seats, verify order details and finalize ticket purchases. "Ticketmaster is constantly looking for new ways to make it easy for fans to discover events and buy tickets, and voice is an exciting technology," said Ticketmaster president Jared Smith. "We're excited about this partnership with Samsung because fans will see a personalized experience based on the artists, teams and events that they love the most." The Bixby integration is the latest collaboration between Ticketmaster and other third-party apps that include Spotify, Groupon and Bandsintown.
