Several National Football League (NFL) teams have made moves to allow season ticket holders to opt out of attending this year following NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's instructions to all teams to reimburse any ticket sales if fans cannot attend games. The Tennessee Titans sent a letter to season ticket holders, offering them an option to apply existing payments for this season toward next year or get a refund for any money already paid, while all remaining installments on payment plans have been suspended as of July 1. Meanwhile, Green Bay Packers season ticket holders can choose to opt in or opt out, with those who opt out receiving either a full refund or being credited to 2021. The Houston Texans are letting fans keep their seats, defer the cost of their tickets to next year or receive a refund for payments that have already been made in 2020 with payments resuming in 2021. The Seattle Seahawks said in April that they would work with individual season ticket holders to accommodate those requiring personalized payment plans, including deferment — although no updates have since been issued. The Seahawks aim to cut stadium capacity to meet the state's social distancing mandates, and depending on how coronavirus concerns play out, the arena could be at half capacity, requiring a decision on which season ticket holders can attend certain games.
