IAVM Announces Next President & CEO - Trevor Mitchell, MBA, FASAE, CAE, CDP
Today, on behalf of the Executive Committee, I am thrilled to share some incredibly exciting news! After an extensive search led by our Search Committee under the guidance of Anne Wheat, CVE, and Mark Gnatovic from SearchWide Global, I am delighted to announce that Trevor Mitchell, MBA, FASAE, CAE, CDP, will be joining IAVM as our new President & CEO.
This marks a significant milestone in our journey as we reach our 100 years of existence, and we couldn't be more excited about the wealth of experience and leadership that Trevor will bring to our organization. With his proven track record of success and his passion for managing successful membership associations, I am confident that he will lead us to even greater heights.
Trevor comes to us as the CEO of American Mensa, which is a 501c4 professional member organization (with a 19-member board) that provides social connection and intellectual stimulation to those who score in the top 2% of intelligence exams. With 55,000 members and a staff of over 20, he also serves as the executive director of the Mensa Foundation (7-member board.)
He is a Certified Association Executive, Board Chair for the Texas Society of Association Executives, an ASAE Fellow, Certified Diversity Professional and Past Chair for ASAE's Diversity and Inclusion Committee. He regularly serves on other advisory boards and has extensive experience leading volunteer-based initiatives.
Trevor is not only a seasoned professional in the association field but also a visionary leader who values collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity. He embodies the core values that are at the heart of our organization, and I am excited to see how he will inspire and empower us all.
Trevor will be attending the Venue Management School on June 6th to experience our signature school and then will wrap up his obligations with American Mensa to come back and join us full-time beginning July 22nd. You will have many chances to get to know him at VenueConnect in Portland, as well as through our IAVM communication channels, as we introduce him further to you.
As we embark on this new chapter together, let us extend a warm welcome and congratulations to Trevor Mitchell. Together, we will continue to make a difference and shape a brighter future for our venue industry and the communities we serve.
Yours kindly,
Kerry Painter, CVE, CEM, CMP
Chair, IAVM Board of Directors
