Goldenvoice has announced the cancellation of this year's FYF Festival, saying it made this decision because organizers “felt unable to present an experience on par with the expectations of our loyal fans and the Los Angeles music community this year.” The company's online statement notes ticket holders will automatically receive complete refunds including all service charges starting May 7, “with no action necessary on your end to receive a refund.” The 2018 FYF drew controversy earlier with Goldenvoice's decision to cut ties with co-founder Sean Carlson in November following sexual misconduct allegations. Goldenvoice terminated its relationship with Carlson, and said it was “evaluating our path forward as it relates to FYF Fest.” A Goldenvoice press announcement said the company is now the exclusive owner of FYF Fest. This year's FYF was announced as a standalone two-day event scheduled for July 21-22, whereas in 2017 the festival lasted three days. Meanwhile, California's Outside Lands festival is scheduled to take place in San Francisco only a few weeks after FYF was originally scheduled, featuring some of the same artists slated for FYF, including Florence + The Machine, Janet Jackson, Future, The Internet and Daniel Caesar.
