So far, 2025 has seen wildfires in Southern California, an odd string of plane crashes that began when a military helicopter collided with a passenger jet near the nation’s capital, and a second Trump presidency that has been dramatic to say the least. More than ever, live events and ticketed entertainment are needed to give people a diversion, an escape and some sorely needed fun.
Here is a list of the hottest tickets to have in hand this month of March:
SPORTS
March Madness NCAA Basketball — The great Division I college basketball tournament returns, giving workers perhaps the single greatest reason to vacate the home office and return to the workplace and vie with their fellow staffers in a good, old-fashioned office pool. It will involve 68 teams playing in a single-elimination tournament that begins March 18. Host arenas and colleges include: Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky (the University of Kentucky); Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas (Wichita State University); Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee (Marquette University); and Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina (N.C. State University); among others.
(March 18-April 7)
Opening Day of Major League Baseball — The 2025 MLB season will begin March 18-19 in Japan at the Tokyo Dome, with the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers taking on the Chicago Cubs. Presented by Guggenheim, the so-called Tokyo Series is the latest installment in the league’s World Tour.
(March 18-19)
The 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games — Officially known as the XII Special Olympics World Winter Games, this multi-sport event with 102 nations representing is set to take place in Turin over an eight-day stretch. This marks the first time Italy has hosted these Games.
(March 8-15)
The Pennzoil 400 – This NASCAR Cup Series stock car race is held annually at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It is the first of two races held in the city, with the other one being the South Point 400 later in the year in the playoffs. Presented by Jiffy Lube, this first race is unusual in that its winner receives not a trophy, but a championship belt.

BROADWAY
“Glengarry Glen Ross” — The revival of David Mamet’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play opens at the Palace Theatre. It will feature a star-studded cast of newly crowned Oscar winner Kieran Culkin, comedian Bill Burr, and “Better Call Saul” stars Bob Odenkirk and Michael McKean as four Chicago real estate agents who live by the one rule: “Always be closing!”
(Opens March 10)
“Good Night, and Good Luck” — George Clooney directed, co-wrote and co-starred in the 2005 motion picture that garnered six Oscar nominations. This month, he will make his Broadway debut at the Winter Garden Theatre as intrepid news journalist Edward Murrow (a role David Strathairn played in the movie).
(Opens March 12)
RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL
Kevin Hart’s Acting My Age Tour — Actor-comedian Kevin Hart will bring his Acting My Age Tour to the iconic Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan. Three performances in all are scheduled, featuring Hart’s hilarious stories about family life, fatherhood and growing older.

THE SPHERE
The Eagles — Anticipation is high for these Rock and Roll Hall of Famers and their Las Vegas Residency. The Eagles are approaching the end of their live concerts journey with their "Long Goodbye" tour after 52 years of performing. Longtime members Don Henley and Joe Walsh will be joined by country star Vince Gill, performing such classics as "Hotel California" and "Take it Easy." Following the grand opening by U2 and the successful run of Dead & Company, the Eagles' residency stands to cement The Sphere’s reputation as a hub for musical legends.
(March 7-8 and March 14-15)
THE MOVIES
“Mickey 7” – Actor and current big-screen Batman Robert Pattinson will look to further distance himself from his earlier “Twilight” heydays with this sci-fi movie. Pattinson stars as an “expendable” — a disposable crew member on a space mission chosen for dangerous tasks because he can be “renewed” if his body dies. His latest regeneration, though, does not go well.
(March 7)
“Snow White” — Starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, Walt Disney Co. has a lot riding on this live-action version of the 1937 animated classic. In addition to some story changes that have drawn criticism, the filmmakers have replaced the human actors who originally played the seven dwarves with computer-generated versions. Still, it should be one of the hot tickets at the box office, and one of the best places to see it will be the McHenry Outdoor Theater in suburban Chicago. The beloved drive-in theater will host its season’s opening night on March 21 with this movie.
