From the outset of the £365 million (US$460 million) project that is Co-op Live, Oak View Group never wavered in its intentions to give back to Manchester. In addition to pledging a £1 million annual donation to a charity fund created by naming rights partner Co-op, Oak View Group gave up-and-coming professionals the opportunity to try different career paths through approximately 100 apprenticeships awarded during the construction of the building. Now that the venue is on the verge of opening, the team wants to make sure the next generation of performing artists gets a chance to further their careers by offering multiple performing spaces both inside and outside the main auditorium. One of the most promising is The Street, which has space for 2,500 people and is equipped with enhanced audio systems by Vanguardia.
