Videoboard software producer ANC has witnessed growing interest in its portable technology as professional and college football teams establish tailgate zones outside of stadiums that this fall could see occupancy reduced by half. ANC is in discussion with multiple clients as they figure out how to generate revenue and support a quality game day experience, given the pandemic. ANC CEO George Linardos notes, for example, that the company provides portable videoboards for Bevo Boulevard, the tailgate zone for University of Texas football outside the Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. "It's a great pregame experience, with large screens up and down the street showing other games and broadcasting highlight reels to help create that atmosphere," he explains. ANC also has attracted interest from National Football League teams for delivering field-level digital inventory for sponsors, similar to what is done in soccer, with access to sidelines opening now that teams are losing revenue from ticket sales, concessions and merchandise. Clients also are interested in renting portable boards for longer durations than weekends, with certain big league arenas staging extravagant outdoor events to extend the gameday experience over a three-month stretch for fans who cannot get in the stadium. ANC also has supplied videoboards for Live Nation's drive-in concert series in Nashville, St. Louis and Indianapolis.
