The United Kingdom (U.K.) government is reportedly planning to ban resale of sports, concert and live theater tickets at prices above face value. The nation’s Labor Party is looking to make good on previous campaign promises to curb bots and bulk buyers as part of a package of consumer protection measures, with Prime Minister Keir Starmer facing additional pressure in recent days from such popular recording stars as Coldplay and Dua Lipa. Shares of StubHub sank. Live Nation, which owns Ticketmaster, has announced its full support for the U.K. government plan.
