Under a proposed change to Connecticut's ethics code, state lawmakers would be permitted to accept two tickets annually from the University of Connecticut to one home game for either UConn basketball team. The state's House of Representatives recently voted unanimously to redefine allowable gifts, permitting state employees and public officials to accept an offer of admission from a public college or university hosting an intercollegiate sporting event for themselves and one other person once per calendar year. Tickets to sporting events are being termed a gift under the code.
