New York, NY (October 11, 2018) – TodayTix, the easiest way to get tickets to live experiences around the world, today announced the launch of “TodayTix Presents,” a new initiative to facilitate in-house produced events leveraging its proven digital ticketing technology and dedicated customer base.
With TodayTix Presents, TodayTix moves beyond simply processing ticket orders into producing live experiences audiences want most. From intimate sit-down sessions to high-energy concerts that connect audiences with the artists they love, TodayTix Presents offers insider access that you can’t get anywhere else to experiences that have an impact far beyond social media timelines.
“When we launched TodayTix in 2013, our mission was to unlock access to theater and the arts by introducing a simple way to buy and sell tickets. Today, we serve more than 4.6 million customers globally where more than two-thirds of our customers see multiple shows a year,” said Brian Fenty, Co-Founder and CEO, TodayTix. “As we ushered a new, younger demographic into this world over the past five years, we studied their behavior and solicited their feedback to understand the types of experiences they crave most, which is the driving creative force behind the productions you’ll see from TodayTix Presents.”
TodayTix Presents initially aims to produce three events each quarter across the 13 cities it operates in globally. Its first production was in September 2018 in celebration of TodayTix’s 5-year anniversary in the form of a sold-out concert of 300 fans enjoying eight performers – including Darren Criss, Matthew Morrison, and Ariana DeBose – that showcased Broadway talent outside of its typical confines; artists sang original works and chart-topping hits from Madonna, Katy Perry, The Beatles and more. The next TodayTix Presents event will be held in early November 2018 in New York City.
Since its 2013 launch, TodayTix has consistently doubled its sales year-over-year. Five years, 13 cities, 1,100 partners, 4.6 million consumers and $250 million in tickets sold later, TodayTix’s roots in theater have become a gateway to cultural experiences for its dedicated millennial user base. Sixty-one percent of customers who discover TodayTix through theater tickets buy in a different genre, like comedy, opera, or dance, on their second ticket purchase. TodayTix Presents creates a new way for the company to provide access to interesting new experiences for its customers, and generate a new stream of revenue for the business.
