Salford, Mar 24, 2026 : Tixly, a leader in ticketing software for the performing arts, is proud to announce a new partnership with Lowry in Salford, Greater Manchester. One of the UKʼs most celebrated arts centres, Lowry draws audiences from across the country to its waterfront home on the regenerated Salford Quays, and the partnership represents a significant milestone in Tixlyʼs continued growth across the UK market.
Lowry opened in April 2000 and has since welcomed over 18.5 million visitors. A registered charity and national arts organisation, it brings together performing and visual arts under one roof. Its three performance spaces - the 1,730-seat Lyric (the largest stage in the UK outside Londonʼs West End), the 466-seat Quays Theatre, and the flexible Studio - host a vibrant year-round programme spanning drama, opera, dance, West End musicals, comedy and childrenʼs shows. The venue also holds the worldʼs largest public collection of works by Salford-born artist L.S. Lowry, with over 400 paintings and drawings on permanent, free, display.
Lowry also delivers an extensive Learning & Engagement programme across local communities, alongside a dynamic artist development strand that supports creatives to experiment, make new work and grow their practice.
“Weʼre incredibly excited to launch our new ticketing platform and the opportunities it brings. It will give our audiences a smoother, more intuitive booking experience and make it easier for people to discover the full breadth of our programme. Importantly, this transition also strengthens QuayTickets - enhancing the service we provide not only to Lowry but to our wider family of partner venues and clients. Weʼre delighted to be embarking on this new partnership and the transformation it will support.ˮ - RACHEL MILLER, DIRECTOR, LOWRY & QUAYTICKETS
Tixlyʼs platform will go live at Lowry later in 2026, supporting ticketing operations across the venueʼs full programme. Built specifically for the performing arts, the system gives venue teams the tools to manage their sales, operations and audience data efficiently, while giving audiences a straightforward and reliable experience from first click to curtain up. The partnership builds on Tixlyʼs growing presence across the UK, further strengthening its position as a trusted ticketing partner for performing arts and cultural organisations.
“We are incredibly proud to be partnering with The Lowry. It is one of the UKʼs great cultural institutions, and what the team there has built over 25 years, both on stage and in the community, is something we have long admired. Joining forces with a venue of this scale and reputation is a real statement of where Tixly is heading, and we are looking forward to supporting The Lowry as they continue to welcome audiences from across the country.ˮ - HREFNA SIF JÓNSDÓTTIR, MANAGING DIRECTOR, TIXLY
This partnership reflects Tixlyʼs commitment to working with leading performing arts organisations across the UK and beyond, helping them get more from their ticketing and build stronger relationships with their audiences.
