Tickets.com and Agents vs Cancer deliver an unforgettable experience to young cancer patient during Spring Training
March 2023 Surprise, Arizona As the saying goes, March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, but it also brings back the roar of the crowd to baseball stadiums around the country. To kick off the upcoming season, Tickets.com, Agents vs Cancer, and Surprise Stadium teamed up to provide a special experience for a Banner University Medical Center baseball-loving patient and his family.
Julio Rodriguez is a huge baseball fan and loved playing the game until he was diagnosed with Stage IV High Risk Neuroblastoma with multiple areas of metastasis in the fall of 2021. After months of inpatient chemotherapy, surgery, two stem cell transplants, and six weeks of proton beam radiation at the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Julio is currently disease free but is at high risk of relapse.
On a beautiful sunny day at Surprise Stadium, Julio and his family made their way down to the field, where Julio threw out the first pitch for the spring training game. The fun-filled day delivered an experience that Julio and his family will never forget.
Founder of Agents vs Cancer, Matt Coulter said about the special day, “Our goal is to deliver resources for families that need a little extra love and support. We are extremely excited about this and are just getting started.”
