Ticketpass has unveiled an ethical ticketing and event creation tool that features a "Give Back 50" pledge, indicating it will donate 50% of all its booking fee revenues to charities worldwide. Ticketpass CEO and founder Rodrigo Bautista says, "There are more than 1.3 million events per year in the UK alone, but current ticketing options are limited...We want to show the world that a fair and friendly platform is possible while at the same time giving back to help tackle global problems like climate change, poverty, and education." Ticketpass partnered with GlobalGiving, a global crowdfunding community for non-profits, to enable event organizers and ticket buyers to select more than 4,000 vetted community projects across 170 countries to donate to. People can monitor the impact of their donations via reports uploaded to the platform. Charities that organize events using Ticketpass can direct donations to their own projects. The next goal of Ticketpass is raising £250,000 through a crowdfunding campaign in order to invest in additional platform features. The company also hopes to form a marketplace to give buyers more flexibility to easily transfer their tickets or sell them at face value if they are unable to attend an event.
