Next spring will see the launch of FanSale, an in-house resale platform for CTS Eventim's Switzerland-based Ticketcorner arm. According to the parent company, FanSale bars commercially organized dealers or resale at exorbitant prices, with all available tickets sold at no more than the original price, plus a fee to cover the costs. Ticketcorner CEO Andreas Angehrn says any ticket offered on FanSale is first vetted across various criteria; if it passes, it receives Ticketcorner's seal of approval and is issued for resale. "The reason we're doing this is to stop the dishonest practices of the secondary market, to guarantee the authenticity of the tickets to our customers and make sure they get a fair deal," Angehrn notes. Babette Sigg with the Swiss consumer forum kf has welcomed FanSale. "Security and fairness are vital to consumers," she stresses. "It cannot be that they are fleeced by secondary market sites, that they pay a lot of money for a ticket and ultimately are not even admitted to the event. This is why we are pleased with the initiative of Ticketcorner." Angehrn says Ticketcorner aims to position FanSale as the leading and the fairest Swiss secondary market ticketing platform in coming years.
