Ticket prices for the U.S. quarterfinal match against France at the Women's World Cup soared, with one vendor listing two tickets for more than $11,000 each on the secondary market. The cheapest ticket on StubHub.com was $295, while the average ticket price was $335. "The Women's World Cup is seeing a significant uptick in interest, with sales doubling for the June 28 game, as the U.S. women's team continues to advance and prepares to face host country France in the quarterfinals," said StubHub's Jill Krimmel. "Soccer is the most popular sport worldwide and we are pleased to see how the USA's performance is turning heads." The listed prices are unusually high even for the match's Paris location. Tickets for the U.S. 2015 quarterfinal match against China had an average resale listing of $165 on SeatGeek.com in comparison. The World Cup's popularity also could have contributed to the price elevation.
