The Super Bowl's 'Other' Big Games
Accompanying the Super Bowl was a host of equally popular ancillary entertainment and music events held in the days leading up to the game itself, like the Bud Light Super Bowl Music Fest. This year's Music Fest was at the Footprint Center, home of the Phoenix Suns, and stadium executive Ralph Marchetta pointed to events, parties and other happenings at the Phoenix Convention Center and Margaret T. Hance Park. Artists in multiple genres headlined the three-night concert series, which included Paramore, the Dave Matthews Band and Imagine Dragons. “Lineup strategy every year is based on wanting to do unique shows, interesting pairings and one-of-a-kind moments,” said Amit Dhawan with producing partner Synergy Productions. Some high-profile Super Bowl events were produced by Medium Rare, which is known for experimentation and features major sports and entertainment stars. Also held was the family-friendly interactive food and music festival known as Guy's Flavortown Tailgate, which included a free, pregame, family-friendly event hosted by celebrity chef Guy Fieri for 10,000 fans at State Farm Stadium.
