The Shaftesbury Theatre, with its ornate auditorium housing 1,416 seats, is the largest independently owned and managed theatre in the West End. From its original opening in 1911, this Grade II listed building has welcomed generations of theatregoers to plays, operettas, classical and contemporary dance, variety, stand-up comedy and musicals. The Shaftesbury Theatre’s current production is the Olivier Award winning “& Juliet” featuring the songs of legendary contemporary songwriter Max Martin.
The Shaftesbury Theatre has embarked on an ambitious £15 million programme to extend and improve its public areas and offer its audiences an even more welcoming and enjoyable experience. This transformation of a beautiful Edwardian building into a venue fit for the 21st Century will be further enhanced by its selection of a modern, mobilefirst, ticketing system.
