The Big Game: Sofi Stadium and Hollywood Park Managing Director Jason Gannon Talks Super Bowl, Elevating SoCal and More

SoFi Stadium Managing Director Jason Gannon discussed how Los Angeles has benefited from the privately financed arena and other issues. He explained that the stadium was built for major events like the Super Bowl and the Rolling Stones concert. Gannon said it is "really important for us, obviously, to have fans in the building this year and really get a good grasp on how the building actually lives and breathes with fans inside." He described the venue's roof canopy and indoor-outdoor aesthetic as a novel opportunity that dovetails with Southern California's unique environment and climate. "Inglewood being in a really great microclimate close to the ocean, getting a lot of those ocean breezes throughout the year and bringing those in throughout the building, is something that's really special about the location of SoFi Stadium," Gannon noted. He added that SoFi was also designed to support the "command center" framework of stadium managers that the National Football League typically implements for the Super Bowl. SoFi's first event, Vax Live, stood out by highlighting that venues can be utilized for public service. "It was really important as we thought about Hollywood Park going forward that we embraced that opportunity to gather those types of community spaces and have the overall positive public impact it could have, and ultimately has had and will continue to have, not only in the Inglewood community in Los Angeles but also the greater region here in Southern California," Gannon remarked.
