New York Theatre Guide (12/21/25)

The editorial staff of New York Theatre Guide recently shared their favorite plays and musicals on and off Broadway for 2025. This roundup lists 20 of the best Broadway and Off-Broadway shows of this past year as picked by multiple theatre writers. Broadway shows included "Liberation," "Ragtime" and "Operation Mincemeat." Off-Broadway productions ranged from "Gruesome Playground Injuries" to "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee." Topping the list was "Becoming Eve," Emil Weinstein’s drama that was adapted from the memoir by Rabbi Abby Chava Stein. It featured memorable performances from lead Tommy Dorfman, Richard Schiff and Brandon Uranowitz along with Amanda Villalobos’ puppets.
