As arts and cultural organizations in North America and abroad seek to reopen, Tessitura Network and Bindle Systems today announced a partnership to make it easy for artists, patrons, and staff to gather safely, even as the SARS-Cov-2 virus continues to circulate.
The collaboration enables organizations to efficiently verify the COVID-19 health status of visitors, audiences, staff, and others who enter their facilities. These individuals can use the My Bindle app to take custody of their COVID-19 vaccination records and/or test results. This health data is then encrypted into verifiable digital credentials that participating venues in the Tessitura Network can easily verify. People without smartphones will be able to use printed credentials.
“Arts and cultural institutions have experienced significant challenges from the pandemic,” said Ivan Medanic, Senior Vice President of Partnerships at Tessitura Network. “One of our goals at Tessitura is to provide our member organizations with industry-leading tools that help them reopen safely and operate efficiently. Bindle’s innovative technology platform will play an important part in this effort, and we are excited to be offering the Bindle platform to our network.”
Importantly, unlike “vaccine passports,” Bindle is designed so the individual has 100% control of their personal health information and no other entity ever sees this data — not venues, not government entities, not BigTech, and not even Bindle. In addition, the Bindle platform was specifically designed for freedom of choice: people who are not vaccinated can instead add proof of a recent negative COVID-19 test to the platform, or even use a symptom survey.
The platform is free to individuals and priced affordably for venues. Every type of location, from a small gallery to a large concert hall or museum, can use the technology to verify COVID-19 health status.
“The reopening of arts and cultural organizations is a true turning point in the pandemic," said Gus Warren, co-founder and CEO of Bindle Systems. “As a Public Benefit Corporation, we specifically sought out a partner that could help us get this critical sector of society reopened, and which also has the credibility and reputation to deploy a proof-of-health system globally. We could not have found a better partner than Tessitura, and we are thrilled to be working with their team on this collaboration.”

Individuals who would like to use Bindle to securely carry their vaccine and test records can download the My Bindle app from Apple’s App Store or the Google Play Store. About Bindle Systems
Bindle Systems is a Public Benefit Corporation founded in the early days of COVID-19 to build software tools for pandemic defense. Our first product is a private proof-of-health system specifically designed to safely reopen communities without sacrificing freedoms or civil liberties. Individuals use Bindle as a health wallet to securely carry vaccine records, test results, and symptom surveys. Workplaces, schools, and other venues use Bindle to quickly and anonymously verify the COVID-19 health status of employees, students, customers, and guests. Bindle is safer than the “honor system" and more private than “vaccine passports.” Individuals have complete control of their data and no personal health information is ever shared with venues, the government, BigTech, or even Bindle itself. The platform was designed and commercialized by serial entrepreneurs who have also held executive product and technology roles at AOL, American Express, CLEAR, Samsung, and Time Warner. Our team has expertise across multiple disciplines including infectious disease, public health, social impact, privacy-by-design, cryptography, decentralized computing, and open source software.
