CultureSuite is delighted to announce that Jack Rubin, co-founder and former CEO of Tessitura Network, has joined the company as Strategic Advisor. Jack brings decades of leadership experience in arts, culture, and technology to support CultureSuite's mission of creating sustainable digital solutions for cultural organisations worldwide.
Jack co-founded Tessitura Network in 2001, building it into the global standard for integrated customer relationship management, ticketing, fundraising, marketing, memberships and more in the nonprofit arts sector. Under his leadership as CEO for over 20 years, Tessitura evolved from a solution originally developed for the Metropolitan Opera into a comprehensive platform now serving more than 800 arts and cultural organisations across ten countries.
The appointment represents a significant endorsement of CultureSuite's approach to building and managing cultural websites, community-driven innovation, and digital sustainability.
"What drew me to CultureSuite is their genuine commitment to making digital technology more affordable, accessible and sustainable for our sector," says Jack Rubin. "Having spent over 20 years building collaborative solutions for arts organisations, I immediately recognised the power of CultureSuite's community-driven approach.
“CultureSuite enables brilliant, flexible and powerful websites in a rapidly-deployed, cost-efficient SaaS model, thus saving hundreds of thousands, and they also provide new capabilities every month. Their model of continuous innovation through shared knowledge perfectly aligns with what I believe the cultural sector needs – technology that evolves with organisations rather than requiring costly rebuilds every few years."
Jack's involvement with CultureSuite extends beyond traditional advisory roles. His deep understanding of the cultural sector's unique challenges, combined with his expertise in community building and strategic partnerships, will help amplify CultureSuite's mission to democratise access to efficient and effective digital tools for venues of all sizes.
"Jack's decision to join us as Strategic Advisor validates everything we've been building," explains Coen van der Poll, CEO of CultureSuite. "His track record of fostering collaboration across the cultural sector through Tessitura demonstrates exactly the kind of thinking we need as we continue expanding our community of venues. Jack understands that the best innovations come from listening to real venue challenges and building solutions that benefit everyone, not just individual organisations."
David Johnstone, Chief Growth Officer at CultureSuite, adds: "Having first met Jack over 15 years ago, then seeing first-hand how he built Tessitura into a market-leading, global technology platform in the sector, it's a bit of a 'pinch me' moment to now have him on board helping shape our future. His belief in our vision and willingness to lend his expertise speaks volumes about the potential he sees in what we're building."
The timing of Jack’s appointment is particularly significant as CultureSuite continues to expand its reach across North America and beyond. His experience scaling technology solutions for the global arts community will prove invaluable as CultureSuite works to serve an increasingly diverse range of cultural organisations.
Jack's advisory role also comes as CultureSuite strengthens its ties with Tessitura by joining forces in a formal partnership, beginning a new chapter in their relationship as they look to work more closely together.
Since transitioning from his CEO role at Tessitura in 2020, Jack has established himself as a sought-after strategic advisor, working with companies including True Tickets, Easy-Connect, and Victory Live. His expertise spans growth acceleration, strategic partnerships, and the unique operational needs of cultural institutions.
"The cultural sector faces unprecedented challenges in funding, skills acquisition, audience development and commercial sustainability," notes Jack. "CultureSuite's approach of creating shared value through community-driven development offers exactly the kind of collaborative solution our sector needs. I'm excited to help amplify their impact and ensure more cultural organisations can benefit from this innovative model."
CultureSuite's Peppered CMS platform currently powers websites for over 100 cultural venues worldwide including Amsterdam's Nationale Opera and Ballet, Manchester's Co-op Live Arena, New York’s Joyce Theater and Hawaii's Honolulu Museum of Art.
The platform's community-driven development model ensures that innovations requested by one venue benefit the entire user base, creating a sustainable ecosystem of shared knowledge and continuous improvement.
Jack’s role will focus on strategic partnerships, community building, and helping CultureSuite navigate the complex landscape of cultural technology adoption. His deep network within the arts and culture sector, combined with his understanding of organisational change management, positions him to significantly accelerate CultureSuite's growth and impact.
