Sweet on Oct. 14 rolled out a new app, offering artists a platform to reward fans with opportunities to earn prizes like backstage passes, private lessons and video chats. About 200 talent brands throughout music, gaming and content creation have so far enrolled in the Sweet app, and their fans can earn loyalty tokens called Sugar through over 100 actions, like streaming music, watching videos, sharing social posts, visiting stores and going to concerts or events. The tokens can be redeemed in the app's global rewards marketplace on more than 2,000 experiences and products from leading talent and brands such as Apple, Google, Bose, Nike and Amazon. There also will be weekly live "Sugar Rush" games and streaming parties within the app, headlined by a special celebrity, artist or talent brand. These perks will give fans opportunities to experience new music and content via digital sessions, including charity components in support of the hosting talent's cherished cause. Furthermore, the app has a real-world connection called "Sweet Spots" or scavenger hunts for Sugar tokens at concerts, festivals and retail stores. "Sweet has created the ultimate 'give-back' platform where everyone wins," said Sweet CEO Tom Mizzone. "Fans get incredible rewards, experiences and first-to-know content, while the artists and talent brands are able to activate their fan-base, reach new fans, and drive the most meaningful and valuable engagement."
