Lollapalooza Berlin promoter Goodlive will next September launch the inaugural two-day Superbloom festival in Munich's Olympic Park, coinciding with but not related to the Lolla Berlin festival. "A so-called Superbloom is a very rare and absolutely unique phenomenon where an extremely large amount of wildflower seeds awakes and blossoms at the same time," said festival director Fruzsina Szép. "This phenomenon is a colorful spectacle of an extraordinary kind and exceptionally beautiful." Szép added that the Superbloom lineup will showcase mainstream pop, rock, electronic dance music, hip-hop, folk and singer-songwriters, with half its programming non-musical. There also will be specific sites for children and families, green and sustainable programs, design and technology, health and science-related topics, design, lifestyle, fashion, and contemporary performing arts and street arts. "Gastronomy plays an important role in our concept as well, therefore we will create a big variety of food and drink offers that will also include the local tastes and, of course, the charm of a Munich Biergarten," Szép explained. She described the festival as "a new ... brand that touches all senses. We hope to be able to create a festival to fall in love with, and that Superbloom becomes an annual tradition in the German and the European festival calendar."
