Stay22 launches 2 hospitality initiatives for hotels to help them bounce back from COVID-19.
Montreal, Quebec, 2020 - Stay22 has launched two new hospitality features to help hotels gain leverage in the market in the aftermath of COVID-19. The first initiative, ‘Sponsored Listings’, gives hotels more visibility whilst the second, ‘Hospitality 360’, allows them to take advantage of Stay22’s technology so that they may obtain a second source of revenue. All whilst offering their guests a wide range of hospitality & local experiences.
To further explain both features; ‘Sponsored Listings’ gives hotels the opportunity to promote their accommodation on the Stay22 solution. This will offer hotels the possibility to customize their listing by showcasing their logo; displaying special offers; using their own website URL and much more, to guarantee that they stand out over other accommodation options. ‘Hospitality 360’ on the other hand, allows hotels to take advantage of Stay22’s technology to put themselves at the heart of their guests' stay and display: events, restaurants, experiences, points of interest, and all that they have to offer around their location. This feature follows the Stay22 commission system traditionally applied to accommodations, giving hotels another source of revenue, as well as monthly data reports on user interaction.
Andrew Lockhead, CEO and Co-Founder of Stay22 comments: ‘The travel and hospitality industries have been hit pretty hard by COVID-19. However, we’re expecting hotels to make a surprising comeback. After conducting an analysis of our data, where we compared user booking habits pre and post COVID-19, we realized that there seemed to be a big shift in favor of hotels by a preference of 62%. And we couldn’t be more thrilled for them. We thought about how we could use our solution to help them, and came up with the ‘Hospitality 360’ and ‘Sponsored Listings’ initiatives, as a way to help give them more visibility and power without the need of an OTA.’
The Quebec native startup decided to pilot this project in their hometown Montreal first. ‘It felt natural to start in Montreal.’ confesses Andrew, ‘It’s home, and where we’ve been able to see the impact of COVID19 on a personal level. At first, the initiatives started as a way to help our community but after receiving such positive feedback from hotel managers we thought it was something we should launch on a bigger scale.’
Since the launch of these projects, there have already been a few hotels that have not only jumped on board but have praised Stay22 for their ability to adapt in times of crisis. One of them being Hotel Monville whose Director of Sales & Marketing, Jean-Cédric Callies, said: ‘We are proud to start our collaboration with Stay22, a Montreal Start-up that is able to adapt its business model to answer the needs of the hotel industry in the COVID times. Leveraging technology to serve the traveler is one of the biggest opportunities for us right now.’
