Sphere Entertainment, which operates the Sphere in Las Vegas, registered $314 million in its fiscal second quarter, the first full reporting period as a public company. Sphere itself accounted for the lion's share of that revenue — $167.8 million. Still, the company posted a quarterly operating loss of $159.7 million, even after it was buoyed by a relatively strong $34.2 million bottom line from the networks sector. Much of the operating loss is non-cash, which the company ascribes to its decision to scrap plans for Sphere London. A large majority of Sphere’s revenues came from director Darren Aronofsky's "Postcard from Earth” film, with $92.9 million generated from more than 190 screenings.
