With such recording artists as Maria Becerra and Shakira producing hit songs and climbing to the top of the music charts, the countries they were born out of are on the rise, too. According to a report from the World Bank Group, South America is catching up with pre-pandemic trends in gross domestic product growth. The recovery has been driven largely by consumption, some of which is tied to the ever-increasing demand for live entertainment in countries like Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. Regarding venues, Chile's Movistar Arena in Santiago has sold nearly 1.6 million tickets in the past year with grosses eclipsing $91 million, making it South America's top arena. Colombia has also benefited greatly from arena development, as it is arguably one of the world's best exporters of talent having produced artists like Karol G, Shakira, Carlos Vives, J Balvin, and Maluma.
