Coldplay is set to perform three concerts of their Music of the Spheres world tour in Mumbai in 2025, and the tickets are being sold for exorbitant sums on the various reselling platforms after being sold out in minutes on BookMyShow (BMS) - the tour's official ticketing platform. The tickets went on sale on Sept. 22 and were priced from 2,500 rupees to 12,000 rupees. Over 10 million people competed to purchase some 180,000 tickets. This inevitably led to fans complaining about hours-long digital queues and site crashes. Many, though, are alleging that the sales process was rigged as resellers had started selling tickets for five times the price - touching even 900,000 rupees (US$10,800) - before they were even released on the official site. BMS, which has denied any association with resellers, is calling on fans to avoid tickets from "unauthorized sources" as they could be fake.
