Due to school and venue closures amid the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S., ballet students are taking lessons remotely. The Cleveland Inner City Ballet announced a free Virtual Online Ballet Instruction Program over the weekend, available through Facebook or the group's website. The Facebook page stated: "We want to keep your little ones moving over the next three weeks as they are off from school. We will be offering fun and engaging ballet instruction and tutorials you can practice in the privacy of your own home." The Cleveland School of Rock also has switched to app-based classes, and owner Shelly Norehad said this option helps support the musicians who teach classes following canceled gigs. These and other initiatives are designed to keep students and performers in the arts and sciences engaged until the pandemic emergency has passed.
