Sam Houston State University (SHSU) has completed its football stadium renovation ahead of the 2026 season. The $60 million project broke ground in late 2024 and is the first major renovation of the venue since its 1986 opening. The stadium now boasts 13 new suites, a two-story club space with more than 200 seats, a new main lobby, ticket office, apparel store, expanded public restrooms and concessions and a new broadcast and media center. The renovation began shortly after SHSU joined Conference USA in the summer of 2023. SHSU Athletics Director Bobby Williams said the project was necessary considering the conference move.
