Winnipeg, MB — (December 17, 2024) — The Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre (RMTC) is embarking on a new partnership with True Tickets, a leader in digital ticket delivery. This collaboration will introduce RMTC’s audiences to an innovative, secure ticketing process designed to enhance the overall theatre-going experience, from receiving their tickets to entering the venue.
RMTC, the oldest English-language regional theatre in Canada, has been a cornerstone of the Winnipeg arts scene since 1958. Known for its commitment to producing both classic and contemporary works, RMTC engages audiences across two iconic venues—the John Hirsch Mainstage and the Tom Hendry Warehouse—with performances ranging from beloved plays to bold new voices. The theatre is also home to the annual Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival, one of the largest fringe festivals in North America. This partnership with True Tickets further strengthens RMTC’s reputation for innovation, making the theatre experience even more seamless for audiences.
Starting with the 2024/25 season, RMTC will implement True Tickets’ advanced digital ticketing solution. This technology ensures a hassle-free ticketing process for patrons, enabling easy access to performances while mitigating risks associated with ticket fraud and unauthorized resales.
“We are thrilled to be working with True Tickets to bring a digital ticketing process to our patrons,” said Evan Klassen, Executive Director of RMTC. “This partnership allows us to continue delivering outstanding theatre experiences while embracing the benefits of modern technology.”
True Tickets’ innovative digital platform provides RMTC with a secure, customizable solution that gives the theatre control over its ticketing process from start to finish. By introducing digital ticket delivery, RMTC can also engage more effectively with audiences, building lasting relationships with the theatre's dedicated patrons.
“Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre has long been a leader in Canada's performing arts community, and we are honored to support their mission,” said Ken Lesnik, Head of Business Development at True Tickets. “We look forward to helping RMTC offer a secure, frictionless ticketing experience that enhances every patron’s visit to the theatre.”
