In an interview, veteran event producer Ford Englerth discusses his position as the head of Live Nation's new specialized event production company, Redrock Entertainment Services. Englerth says the new unit will concentrate on large-scale live events, specialized projects such as corporate productions, and joint ventures with Hollywood movie studios. "For a lot of these projects we're creating great opportunities for local municipalities to showcase their cities," he says. "That's a key to what we've done with projects that serve the client but have great importance and good will as well." Englerth also says over the last decade or so Live Nation has nurtured "the ability to be resourceful in a company within a region on projects that were not part of our core business." He credits CEO Michael Rapino and executive Bob Roux for understanding that "they had an opportunity to expand those resources and leverage the production talent that exists and make that available to non-traditional concert clients, the corporate world, the movie studio world...anybody out there looking to facilitate quality, well-produced safe events." Looking ahead, Englerth says his team's goal is to find challenging projects and events with crossover and growth potential, with an emphasis on projects that have "more than one singular purpose and allow for the community to be involved or the city to participate and create an experience in a location."
