NASHVILLE, TN (Tuesday, May 03, 2022) – Project Admission, a technology company specializing in innovative digital ticketing solutions, today announced it has been approved by Major League Baseball to provide its ticket distribution platform to MLB Clubs. The Cincinnati Reds, Houston Astros and Tampa Bay Rays will be debuting and implementing Project Admission’s platform for the 2022 season.
“We're excited to welcome Project Admission to MLB as we continue to adopt new and innovative technologies that can support teams and enhance the fan experience,” says Mark Plutzer, SVP of Ticketing for MLB. “We look forward to seeing how Project Admission can meet the demands of a league that is constantly pushing the envelope on embracing new, more efficient technologies.”
Project Admission’s proprietary platform provides innovative features created to help manage the lifecycle of the ticketing process by supporting participating teams’ ability to capture demand by leveraging local organizations through branded storefronts, bulk ticket distribution and monetizing goals. Project Admission’s software seamlessly integrates with ticketing platforms such as Tickets.com and allows sports teams, artists, and event producers to reach new audiences, capture downstream revenue and collect actionable data while providing a user-friendly and fun experience for fans purchasing tickets to live events.
For example, teams can now efficiently distribute large orders to groups with a few simple clicks in a way that gives the recipients a variety of tools to easily manage their tickets.
“We value options in inventory management,” says Rays Chief Business Officer Bill Walsh. “We are excited that Project Admission’s commitment to innovation aligns with ours, and we look forward to seeing the potential their tools can offer.”
“It’s an honor to partner with Major League Baseball to help Clubs sell and distribute tickets,” reflects Project Admission CEO, Stephen Glicken. “As another exciting baseball season is unfolding, featuring exciting changes on the field, we couldn’t be happier to be in position to help support the sport’s growth and popularity moving forward.”
Today’s announcement follows the news that Major League Soccer (MLS) teams Houston Dynamo and Sporting KC, joined MLS returnees, Minnesota United and Portland Timbers as Project Admission users for the 2022 U.S. soccer season. It was also previously announced that National Women’s Soccer League’s Houston Dash and Louisville Racing joined the Portland Thorns as Project Admission users, while United Soccer League teams Louisville City and Hartford Athletic joined this crop of growing newcomers from the pitch.
In addition to its presence in professional baseball and soccer, Project Admission’s platform is being used by other sport and non-sport-related properties, including the NBA, the NFL, The Avett Brothers, One Republic and Zac Brown, among others.
