Super Bowl ticket prices were out of reach for many fans who made travel reservations months ago to come to Las Vegas for the big week. Consequently, many who traveled to Sin City watched the game on TV like millions of others worldwide. Everyone was able to enjoy The NFL Experience, which was like a fan convention with thousands of ticket-less fans decked out of the Chiefs, 49ers, and the other pro teams. Many had the same story. At one point during the regular season, their team looked as if it might have a title shot. Consequently, they booked a Super Bowl trip to Las Vegas. When their team didn't make it, they came anyway thanks largely to the allure of the city and its entertainment options. By some estimates, Las Vegas welcomed 330,000 visitors for the Super Bowl — nearly five times the capacity of Allegiant Stadium — driving $600 million in economic activity.
