Paciolan, the top college athletics ticketing service provider, announced that college sports fans will be able to avail themselves of contactless tickets in Apple Wallet, and gain stadium admission via their iPhones and Apple Watches. Baylor University, Louisiana State University, Michigan State University, University of Mississippi, Georgia Tech, and Rutgers University will be the first schools to offer contactless tickets for the fall 2019 football season. "iPhone and Apple Watch make going to college sports games easier than ever," said Apple's Jennifer Bailey. "We've said our goal is to replace the physical wallet and students and fans will love the convenience and security of having their tickets right on the Apple devices they carry with them every day." Users of iPhone and Apple Watch will get their purchased tickets via text message, and receive a notification on their lock screen when they arrive at the stadium, facilitating easy access to tickets in Apple Wallet. Attendees can then easily and securely enter the venues by placing their device near a reader. Paciolan CTO Keith White said contactless ticketing "improves security and provides game-changing data capability by increasing the known fan base and giving the ticket office key insights to drive business decisions and maximize revenue."
