More Americans are prioritizing live entertainment and ticketed events like sporting competitions, music concerts and theatrical productions, according to Allianz Partners USA's 15th Annual Vacation Confidence Index survey. The trip and ticket insurance company's poll determined 63% of Americans intend to go to at least one ticketed event this year, a gain of three percentage points from last year and eight points from 2021; 20% anticipate attending three or more, up four points from 2021. Fifty-five percent of respondents said they will attend a live concert, festival or performing arts event, a 2% uptick from 2022, while 46% will attend sporting events, up three points from 2021. Live entertainment events are most popular among the 18-to-34 crowd, with 78% of Americans in that age group planning to attend at least one ticketed event in 2023. Meanwhile, 67% of 35- to 54-year-olds are purchasing live event tickets, and persons older than 55 are almost equally divided in terms of their interest in going. Forty-eight percent of respondents in this demographic have attendance plans, a three-point increase from 2022.
