Fans attending Major League Baseball (MLB) postseason games can now receive commemorative non-fungible token (NFT) tickets that will update with relevant photos within 24 hours of the event. The digital ticket stubs from Candy Digital will also sport matchups, the venue name and the starting time. Fans who purchased MLB ICON Leadoff Series NFTs in April will be able on Oct. 21 to find eight randomly placed World Series digital tokens that can be exchanged for two tickets to this season's World Series. Candy Digital this year initiated constant player stat updates on its MLB ICON Leadoff Series NFTs. Its first baseball NFT, on July 4, 2021, was a 1-of-1 token of Lou Gehrig delivering his "Luckiest Man" speech in 1939. Candy Digital later released a series of licensed NFTs commemorating the 40-year anniversary of Cal Ripken's 1982 rookie season, boasting archived video highlights as well as other footage narrated by Ripken. This past August, Candy Digital announced their latest college football NFT drop featuring 17 student-athletes.
