Organizers of Chicago's Lollapalooza music festival are going virtual this year with "Lolla2020," a free, four-night online festival featuring fan-favorite sets from previous events, as well as new live performances, special conversations and more. Lolla2020 will run from July 30 through Aug. 2, airing on YouTube.com/Lollapalooza starting at 5 p.m. Central Time, with more than 150 performances and appearances scheduled. The lineup will include past Lollapalooza performances from LCD Soundsystem, Metallica, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ellie Goulding, Run The Jewels, Lorde, Alabama Shakes and Tove Lo, in addition to historic headlining sets from Paul McCartney, Chance The Rapper, OutKast and Arcade Fire. Four sets will be presented in collaboration with the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, which were recorded at local music venues. Featured artists include Jamila Woods, KAINA, Heavy Steppers with Jamal Smallz, Peter CottonTale, Rebirth Poetry Ensemble, Emon Fowler, Linda Sol and The Era Footwork Crew. A special appearance by former First Lady Michelle Obama also is planned through Lolla2020's partnership with Obama's When We All Vote, a non-profit, nonpartisan organization she started to boost electoral participation. Fans also can support small businesses including local restaurants, photographers and artists affected by the festival's cancellation with the PayPal Loves Chicago hub, offering opportunities to buy art, order food or make contributions by checking out with PayPal.
