Live Nation Entertainment has introduced digital collectible non-fungible token (NFT) ticket stubs for inclusion with tickets on select Live Nation shows in North America, launching with the Swedish House Mafia tour. The "Live Stubs" digital collectible NFTs will echo the section, row and seat of each ticket purchased, which the company says opens up a entire world of possibilities. The offering provides performers with the means to share NFTs, as Live Nation will partner directly with them on the NFT drops, which also feature special experiences and incentives. Live Stubs will be automatically included with tickets to tour stops promoted by Live Nation and in venues powered by Ticketmaster's digital ticketing platform. The company said the NFTs are collectibles that will not substitute for digital tickets needed to enter venues. The tokens are managed through Live Nation's own marketplace, and issued on an eco-friendly blockchain. "Our Live Stubs product brings back the nostalgia of collecting ticket stubs while also giving artists a new tool to deepen that relationship with their fans, and we can't wait to see what the creativity of this community dreams up as it grows," declared Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino.
