Live Nation will host nearly 6 million fans at live events across Britain in June, July and August, making for "a record-breaking outdoor season," according to a press release. The bank holiday weekend of June 3-4 saw more than 200,000 fans at the new Creamfields South and Liam Gallagher at Knebworth. The weekend of June 10-11 saw over 300,000 fans flock to Donington and Heaton Park for Download and Parklife festival, respectively, featuring performances by Kiss, Iron Maiden, Biffy Clyro, 50 Cent, Chase & Status, Tyler, The Creator and Bicep. Live Nation UK calculates that fans will attend more than 100 events during the summer, including 4 million at a festival or outdoor event and almost 2 million at indoor shows. "It is wonderful to see fans reunited with the artists they love, and new bands forging their futures," said Live Nation UK and Ireland Chairman Denis Desmond. "This will be a summer to remember."
