There is still a market for concert films as evidenced by Taylor Swift’s blockbuster "The Eras Tour" and Beyoncé’s "Renaissance: A Film." Not surprisingly, K-pop — with its famously devoted fan bases — is now finding tremendous success in the niche, both in cinemas and streaming. BTS member SUGA currently has the highest grossing concert film of 2024. His "SUGA Agust D Tour 'D-Day' The Movie" earned $10.16 million during a five-day, limited-screen theatrical run from April 10 to 14, reports distributor Trafalgar Releasing. With an initial release of 3,500 theaters, 100 screens had to be added to satisfy demand.
