The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced that e-commerce leader Alibaba will be the official ticketing and services provider for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games. Through its data-driven analytics technology, Alibaba’s fully digital ticket program will allow fans to securely purchase and redistribute tickets. The 2022 Winter Olympics’ organizing committee will use Damai, an Alibaba-owned ticketing platform. “We are proud to extend our partnership with the Olympic Games, beyond e-commerce and cloud, by supporting the Beijing 2022 ticketing program,” said Chris Tung, chief marketing officer of Alibaba. “We look forward to leveraging our technology to help provide streamlined, digitally enabled ticket sales services to create a seamless ticketing experience for fans around the world.” Alibaba has a 12-year agreement with the IOC.
