INTIX 2019: Highlights From Day 3
Emma Frey
The 2019 INTIX Annual Conference & Exhibition has come and gone. A record-breaking 1,105 ticketing professionals came together in Dallas for three days of learning, networking and fun. As the conference wrapped up, members hung around to spend time together late into the evening, not wanting to see the event come to an end.
If you missed out, here’s what happened on the last day of the big event.
Members Treated to the Latest Association News
Over breakfast, INTIX 2019 attendees listened to the latest Association news from the INTIX Board of Directors at the Annual Business Meeting Breakfast. It’s important to the organization that all members have transparent access to the goings-on: past, present and future. With that in mind, this year there was a change in format to the Annual Report: It is now chock-full of updates with a reimagined color design. This is too colorful an industry for black and white.
Even More 2019 Hot Topics in Ticketing
Day 3’s session topics included person & professional branding, more blockchain, team motivation, active shooter incident training, dynamic pricing strategies, open-source software, the impact of legislation on the ticketing ecosystem and international ticketing (including, “Ticketing, eh?” about Canadian ticketing).
As a reminder, stay tuned for Access stories that will expand on the topics included at the conference. These are the hot topics that entertainment ticketing professionals are going to need to be well versed in this year, so be sure you’re subscribed to the Access Weekly newsletter so you don’t miss any of the forthcoming features.
Conference Ended on a ‘High’ Note
DeDe Murcer Moffett, author, singer and motivational leadership speaker gave an electric sendoff to INTIX 2019. She sang. She danced. She even gave two members huge, red exercise balls with handles — which she calls big balls of courage — to push home her point that we should do whatever we need to do to live the life of our dreams. At the end of the speech, the two members who received the “big balls of courage” bounced and raced them down a corridor for all to see.
Perhaps Murcer Moffett’s most poignant component to her speech was when she had everyone snap their fingers with a loud “Snap YES!” in unison. This was her way of encouraging everyone to actively reach for goals and dreams between now and INTIX 2020.
