InCuya Music Festival Organizers May Have Been Overly Ambitious, and the Festival Paid the Price

The Cleveland Concert Co. (Triple C) appears to have overestimated the InCuya Music Festival's popularity, which may explain the event's current status in limbo. Official attendance at the August event was calculated at 15,000 people, but ticket sales did not sufficiently cover production costs. Among issues of concern cited prior to the festival was the lack of a major headlining act, which impacted ticket sales. This competitive disadvantage was even more pronounced with superstar tours hitting Cleveland all summer. "While the inaugural event showed a lot of potential, our team felt that the timing to proceed with the event in 2019 would be challenging," noted Triple C Chair Sunny Nixon. "Building on what we learned, we're open to considering potential options for the future." The company said that the festival is on hold for now while it mulls "a more sustainable business model for future events."
