Nonfungible token (NFT) ticketing company Relic Tickets offers buyers a safer and more convenient way to save ticket stubs by taking advantage of blockchain technology. "No more storing ticket stubs from concerts or games in shoeboxes under the bed," says Relic Tickets CEO Hunter Abramson. "Now, ticket stubs are protected on a shared, immutable, decentralized ledger. No one ever needs to worry about losing them or forgetting them in their pocket when their pants go into the washing machine." The company issues NFT tickets, which give vendors more sale optimization options and create a more meaningful connection between fans and the events they attend. "Traditional tickets become collectibles that a fan can pull out to prove they were there, and NFT tickets take it to the next level," Hunter says. "They become a direct digital communication link between the fan and the team or artist. The potential for NFT tickets to enhance the user experience is limited only by the creativity of the issuer." NFT tickets' digital and programmable nature allows vendors to control them even after purchase. Relic Tickets' process also enables vendors to capture more data on buyers that can be used to add value to the fan and boost revenue for the organization. Security for buyers and sellers alike is another benefit, with NFT tickets able to leverage blockchain to significantly lower the likelihood of fraud and theft.
