Nearly 60 music festivals and 46 live music venues across Australia will receive support through the Australian Government’s Revive Live program, which funds performance, production and accessibility upgrades — particularly in regional and remote areas. The program, part of the National Cultural Policy, helps festivals like the Desert Harmony Festival and Ability Fest, as well as venues such as Freo Social and Cave Inn, cover costs ranging from infrastructure improvements to artist fees and accessibility enhancements. Federal Minister for the Arts, Tony Burke, emphasized the program’s role in keeping the live music sector afloat during a challenging period, noting: "We understand the challenges contributing to cancellations and closures among the live music scene. Venue and festival owners across Australia have told me that Revive Live has provided the support they need to continue hosting and promoting live music."
