This story is brought to you by the INTIX Women in Entertainment Technology Program.
Terri-Ann Feindt founded Double Eagle Consulting in 2018, melding two of her great passions in life: technology and live entertainment. She was the chief information officer for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center for a decade. For seven years after that, she was the head of IT for the New York Philharmonic.
Now, she charts her own course, and she couldn’t be more thrilled. “As a CEO in the technology sector with a primary focus on the entertainment industry, one of the most exhilarating aspects of my role is undoubtedly the opportunity to connect with new individuals, absorb their innovative initiatives, and collaborate on solutions,” she says. “Engaging with industry leaders not only broadens my perspective, but also fuels my passion for driving positive change through technology.”
For Feindt, each encounter presents an opportunity to explore fresh ideas, as well as uncover untapped potential and forge meaningful connections. “By actively listening and understanding the challenges faced by others, I can leverage our collective expertise to develop transformative solutions that propel both our organization and the industry forward,” she says. “The essence of my work continually inspires me to push the boundaries of what's possible in the ever-evolving landscape of technology.”
But there are times when, Feindt concedes, she herself moves a bit too fast and her work-life balance suffers as a result. “In the whirlwind of deadlines and meetings, it's easy to lose sight of the need for downtime, for moments of connection and rejuvenation,” she says. “I continue to navigate the delicate dance of work-life balance, but ensure I take ‘me time’ even if it’s just 15 minutes with a cup of coffee on my patio while petting my rescue dog — actually, she rescued me!”
But when those precious minutes are up, it’s back to “go-getting.” Under her leadership, Double Eagle Consulting has managed to stand out in the marketplace because it represents an intersection of expertise, blending the worlds of entertainment and technology under the stewardship of owners with executive leadership experience in large cultural institutions like Lincoln Center, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and the New York Philharmonic. Feindt says, “These organizations required adept navigation of complex networks of stakeholders, including artists, donors, board members, government entities and the public.”
Perhaps most importantly, she and her Double Eagle Consulting colleagues understand the resource constraints in the entertainment industry, both human and financial. As a result, they like to offer solutions and roadmaps that are both obtainable and executable. Feindt says, “In today's fast-paced business landscape, customer experience reigns supreme. At Double Eagle Consulting, we understand the critical role that next generation contact centers play in shaping customer interactions. Our commitment to excellence extends beyond traditional solutions.”
And, of course, cybersecurity and business continuity are paramount concerns in today's digital age. Double Eagle Consulting offers expertise in safeguarding a venue’s operations against cyber threats while ensuring seamless continuity even in the face of unexpected disruptions. “With our robust cybersecurity measures and comprehensive business continuity solutions, you can rest assured that your contact center remains resilient and secure at all times,” Feindt says.
For Feindt, it’s all about listening to clients’ wants and needs. She says that learning how to listen effectively in the business world early on in her career proved to be invaluable to the success she enjoys today. “Understanding the power of active listening not only honed my communication skills, but also provided me with a deeper insight into various perspectives and viewpoints,” she says. “I realized that speaking only when I had something valuable to contribute was essential. This mantra taught me to prioritize substance over frequency, ensuring that my words carried weight and purpose.”
By embracing this principle, Feindt not only feels she gained greater respect than she would have otherwise, but she also cultivated meaningful connections. She adds, “In a world inundated with noise, the ability to listen attentively and speak deliberately has been a guiding light in navigating the complexities of the professional realm.”
With this being our Women in Ticketing series, did Feindt have any wise counsel for any young women reading this just starting out in the ticketing and live event space? She did indeed: “Identify a female mentor to provide support, guidance and inspiration as you navigate the complexities of the workplace and strive to achieve professional goals. They can offer unique perspectives, share their experiences, and serve as a source of encouragement and empowerment. Seeing someone who has navigated similar challenges and succeeded can instill confidence in your own abilities and aspirations.”
Finally, INTIX had the benefit of picking Feindt’s brain right at the beginning of 2024’s second quarter. The question was posed to her: “Are you generally optimistic, pessimistic or mixed with regards to the remainder of the year?” She was eager to reply: “As we continue into the second quarter of 2024, there's an undeniable buzz surrounding the integration of AI within the ticketing industry, particularly in contact centers and cybersecurity measures. The excitement stems from the immense potential AI holds in enhancing efficiency, security and overall customer experience. With AI-powered contact centers, we anticipate a seamless and personalized interaction for customers, where queries are resolved swiftly and accurately, leading to heightened satisfaction levels.”
She concludes, “As we witness the rapid advancements and tangible benefits of AI adoption, it's evident that clients across various sectors are increasingly embracing this transformative technology to streamline operations and fortify their digital infrastructure for the challenges ahead in 2024 and beyond.”
