The Exit Festival scheduled for July in Novi Sad, Serbia, announced that it will be one of the first major festivals to make ticket sales available for purchase through the bitcoin cryptocurrency. Exit's promoters felt that the emergence of blockchain, digital currency and non-fungible tokens made it necessary for festivals to adopt new technologies in order to meet audience needs. "We wanted to make sure we are at the forefront and are utilizing new technologies and able to engage with our tech-savvy audience as technology evolves and changes," said Exit Festival CEO and founder Dusan Kovacevic. Customers can buy festival tickets, passes, camping tickets and lockers in return for bitcoins via Exits web shops.
